Bovine Inseminations is a Privately Owned Family Company, Established by Ian Parkinson in 1976. From the outset we have specialised in Artificial Breeding and with increased diversity over the years Bovine now offers a complete range of Herd Improvement Services. As of July 1st 1999 Bovine Inseminations implemented a major long term initiative in Sponsoring Rural Primary Schools (38 Schools) by pledging a % of our annual turnover in Sponsorship to Rural Primary School within our service area. Our highly “Trained and Dedicated Staff” have a long term commitment to providing the best service possible to all our farmer clients. Our Staff carry out the following services promptly, efficiently and professionally. “ SERVICE IS THE KEY” Our Professional Insemination Service - This service (our original) now covers in excess of 30,000 inseminations annually. We provide a team of highly experienced technicians who are constantly striving for better results. A feature of this service is a twice daily farm visit available from 15th October to 30th November. Our Herd Recording Service - This service has been operating since 1987. Today we Herd Test approximately 250 Local dairy herds. We also process Herd Test data for approximately 80 Tasmanian Dairy Herds. We use AusHerd Herd Recording Software, which Bovine part owns. All types of testing are offered within this service. Our Dairy Chemical Service - In 1990 Bovine started exclusively marketing Campbell Bros. - Dairy Power Chemical range. Today we are Australia’s largest distributor for Campbell Bros. Dairy detergents and offer a Complete Delivery & Back-up Service. “Second to None” OTHER PRODUCTS & SERVICES Herd Evaluation Service - This service has been operating since 1986. It is completely independent of any Semen Supplier and offers unbiased corrective mating advice using experienced Cow Evaluators and Breeding Advisers. Aussie Calf Hutch - In 1997 Bovine developed and introduced an Australian made moulded poly Calf Hutch. They are lightweight, durable and easy to clean. “Ideal for isolating sick calves”. D.I.Y. Delivery Service - This is one of Bovines original services. It is a free service to farmers who inseminate their own cows. A full compliment of Semen, AB Supplies, Heat detection aids etc..are readily available for delivery. Semen Sales - Complimentary Sire Listings and additional Breeding information is available for current Australian & Imported Proven Sires. “Season Specials” are regularly offered on popular Proven Sires. PCfarm - On farm software. In 1999 Bovine became a part owner in PCfarm. PCfarm enables farmers to download Herd Test data and enter all their cow specific information into their personal PC’s. Electronic Identification Service - In 2000 Bovine purchased software & hardware developed by On-Farm Electronics as a part of a DNRE trial for Electronic ID at Herd Test. With the trial now completed, this service is available to all Herd Testing clients. Pregnancy Testing Service - Via Herd Test milk samples with Back-up from Manual Preg testing service. Freeze Branding Service - Vital for accurate record keeping & Herd Test information. Calf Dehorning Service - Carried out at a few weeks of age, preventing horn growth.
